While walking home today I started to muse about something my hairdresser and I talked about yesterday. She had been home in UK during the past weekend and couldn’t get back to Sweden due to the bad weather. Apparently 4 cm of snow had created a lot of trouble. The busses didn’t run because they couldn’t get out of the garage, 6 million people didn’t go to work etc. 6 million is almost the Swedish population (I think we have entered 9th). Today we have gotten more than 4 cm and more is said to be on the way. Does everything stop – nope but things have been slowed down in some places. I was at the railway station getting tickets and there where some trains that didn’t run some where very late etc but every one was expected to arrive at their destination at sometime today. However this train situation isn’t exceptional for this kind of weather, believe me. Stella and I arrived over 3 hours late last summer. So what did I muse about – snow shovels, winter outfits, winter tyres, just how to handle the situation and that it wasn’t icy anymore!
But mostly that I would soon be home for dinner, a walk with Stella and then my warm cosy blanket, thick socks and a hot cup of tea!

It is ridiculous that everything in Britain ground to a halt because of the snow. There has been more serious snow since then, but to start with, it really wasn't that bad. The truth is, we are just not used to it and not properly prepared for it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, one of the nicest parts about exercising the dog, is coming home and getting warm with a nice, hot drink. It makes you apprecaite home all the more.
I love the picture of Stella on your blog. She is such a lovely girl!
