Selling news

Here in Sweden it seems that our so called “evening papers” have to add something to get the attention. Most often it has been DVDs and at a few occasions books. It’s an interesting phenomenon. I know that some people only can buy on of the papers due to political preference but do they too go over the boarder for a goodie?

I have to admit I do fall for the goodies sometime. I have the first season of Midsomer Murder, Planet Earth set of 5 DVD, National geographic 5 DVD, Disney Treasures 8 DVDs and the cookbooks. As they often give the first one for free I also have them. Right now I could have if I bought every item collect: Lonely Planets travelling guides in Swedish (London was free, not that good), Wallander with Rolf Lassgård in the leading roll, Lynley and CD with different Swedish groups. New for this week were the Sopranos and A world at war. While the first was nothing for me the other one is so I guess I’m in for it again. For another 11 weeks I simply will be buying Expressen once a week.

  1. Yes, we sometimes get the DVDs from the papers too. I hope you like the Midsomer Murders. We love them and have them all on DVD.
