Spring is here!!

Yesterday I took Aprils photos. As you see there is a major change in nature and a lot of water. As usually it will be some familiar sites and some new. First I want to show you a better picture of the statue I love so much.

I have realised that the ally might not be so wonderful it usually is as I now can see exactly how many trees and branches they have taken down. Someone must have gotten a chainsaw for Christmas. They have taken down not just very old and ill trees but, as it seems, younger ones too.

Last Saturday we could go under the motorway (E4), not Sunday and a week later this has been put up.

And the path looked like this!

Stella and I took the road that crosses over instead and when we reached the meadow I saw some thing I have not seen during all the years I have walked this way. The meadow was covered with water. No one is going to convince me that it’s because of the beaver.

Talking about the beaver. The trees he/she so carefully chosen to chew on the human with a chainsaw had taken down. Why can’t people sometimes let nature have a go. A friend told me that it is a few years since the beaver had been seen. Even in the forest there is more water than I have ever seen and on places that normally hasn’t been soaked or soggy.

I have never before seen this spring before.

A path that leads into the forest.

This is the spot were we last week couldn’t walk and instead had to head out on the dirtroad. I must say I thought it would be really bad and was hugely surprised to see it a bit soft and soggy but never less nearly as usual.

One of the locks is open, letting as much water as possible pass, creating a massive commotion in the river. The islands have more or less been covered by water. I have a strong feeling this will continue.

On the opposite side it was completely different.

This is one of the places I have taken a photo every time. Right now you can't see the stones but just wait a month or so.

One of Stella's waterings places.

And see what a stone can do.

I just want to show a few pics of Stella on her 7th birthday as she plays with her new game, which wasn’t to solve. I think she was a bit annoyed with when I was loading it with roast biff and not just giving her the meat.

whoppii

A few years back I started to collect the Disney Classics that I had loved as a child and the ones I saw now. Last year I decided to get them all and today nr 25 and 26 came making my collection complete as far as it can. Nr 50 Tangle has yet to be released in Sweden. Two I have as VHS and these shall be replaced when they came out on a DVD. Any way I'm now the proud owner of the 49 Disney classiscs starting with Snow White.

Time for month nr 3

Another month has passed and it’s time for new photos from Stella’s and my walk Sunday morning walk. We started about the usual time, that is just before 8 am. I have added a few sceneries that I haven’t shown before just to show you all just a little bit more.

Premiär – “The First Time” this is one of my favourite statues in Gävle. It’s right in the beginning of the City Garden.

The next two photos are from last Saturday as I wanted to show you how the bridge looks like, not just the view from it.

This sign tells us that the two boroughs of Valbo and Gävle together built the bridge back in the late 1700

"Our” beaver still is active and no, I still haven’t found where building site. My guess is that it is right under the bridge, which I just have walked over. (it’s not the same as Gustafs bro)

Seeing this makes me wonder if it is the squirrel that is so active o it is something else that is happening. It looks like this around several trees.

A view towards the summer café in the park.

From the dam, down the river

Stella could hear the minks but neither of us could see them. I had a hard time getting her to leave the place.

Not much left of the ice from last week. We went from -22C on one Thursday to +6C the next.
