The Force of Mother Nature

Last Thursday we woke up to -22C. That’s cold, very cold. Even Stella thought that and shortened our morning walk. After supper we went for our evening walk, very well dressed. As usually we went in Boulongen and along the river and got treated to Mother Nature showing the force she can have. In the river in high speed ice-floe passed us and the water level was high. When we got to the dam one of the larger gates had been opened. I guess because of the cold weather they opened it so that it wouldn’t get stuck. Any way Stella and I stood watching the scenery for a while before continuing in the cold. It was drama at its best. The scenery only lit up by the lamps along the path. The sound of the river speeding by us in full force. Ice cracking in places where it was still in one piece. The scraping sound when the ice crushes into each other.

When we passed the same places Friday I realised that I needed to bring the camera and show you all how it looks today. Water was up to the snow edges on the island and left ice-floes on land when it went down to “normal winter” level, there is space under the ice-floes and so on…

And the last photo is of Stella’s special friend: The dipper. I guess it’s getting used to being barked at every time we go by.
it's small but there - my camera can't zoom in closer and the bird didn't want to pose when I stept closer.

My Shower room

I just have to show you have it looks now that it is done.

5 th of February

A month has past since I posted Stella’s and my walk in January. Had these been taken just a few days earlier there would have been less snow in them. We have had degrees over and under 0 C over the past few weeks. This last week we even had rain before it went cold and icy and new snow fell.

I'm not sure you can see the mist coming up from river.

I didn’t know that our river contained a beaver but here is the evidence that there is.

So disappointed.

After several days try to get hold of the firm that is doing my bathroom I did get contact yesterday. Finally everything left was going to be done, well almost everything. The edges around the window can’t be done until I have painted it. I started to work with it last Saturday.

Imagine my huge disappointment when I came home to this …

I can’t imagine he was thinking. Did he really think that I would accept to have a black edge by the toilet instead of having it like all the other walls? To have an edge that would gather dirt and be hard to keep clean?

I really just want them to get out of my life. I want my key back and to know that now I can get my home back in order.

Saturday 8 January

I have an idea of how I’m going to keep this blog more alive that I have done for the past year. I have decided that I around the same date each month shall take a few photos along the walk that Stella and I take normally during the weekend mornings. These photos were taken yesterday morning between 8.15 am to 11.00 am. Had I taken them today they would have looked differently since there has been a change in the weather. Yesterday it was -2C, today at 7 am it was 2C a different of 4 degrees. I have tried to find spots that will change during the year.

Agnes von Krusenstjernas allé. I thought when I moved here that it was build for the tram that went to Boulongen Park but I was wrong. It was build to be a road for the people following the coffin on its way to the grave.

I took this photo of the graveyard just to show how much snow we have.

This is taken från Gustavs Bro. It's one of four candy stops Stella has during the 2½ hour walk.

This is one of the spots that creates a problem during spring.

I just couldn't resist showing you a tracking Stella. Right now she has caught the scent of something.

During the summer these field will held one of the riding schools horses or a farmers cows.

The forrest.

Stella again.

This will another problem spot later on.

Back in the park.

The last one and it is at the begining and end. Carl Mille's Angel Musicians in Stadsträdgården.

I wish i could say it was done and everything was getting back into order but I can’t. Yesterday when I came home I thought, no I had planed to get everything unpacked. I even skipped yoga for it.

But

When I started to clean up I found a leaking line, loose tiles, a “long” hole along the window and doorway and so on. And to top the electricity for the washing machine (I don’t have one but perhaps future owners will) was gone. My stress level was high before but now. Let just say that I didn’t sleep much last night.

Anyway this is how it looks
