I have adopted a tiger and a polar bear.
I’m a sort of person that sometimes it takes me a long time to actually come into action. For months I duelled on supporting these animals or not. It’s not a huge sum each month in large but to me it could mean a big difference at the end of the month. In the end I did decide that it was worth it. In fact I felt it was either them or another foster child or being a so called world parent. The animals “won”. I felt it would be such a loss if they disappeared from the earth just because us Homo sapiens. (And you got such cute soft animals. They are absolutely darlings)
Checking the web side for World Wide Fund,
http://www.wwf.org I have learned so much more about the organisation and now feel that perhaps I should get more involved. Hmm, I have done something thou. I wrote to the Swedish branch since I didn’t know where else I could send my suggestion. I have glanced through the shop department. There where many nice things. As I just had read one of my cross-stitch magazines and the charity things people sew for I got an idea and sent it. Why not sell specially produced kits? I gave the name of my favourite designer who has done several cross-stitch books with wild animals. I also pointed out that I didn’t think it would be a huge success here but in UK and USA I could see kits being sold. And I ended the mail telling where they should advertise to reach us cross-stitch maniacs. I got an answer almost strait away, saying that they would take it under consideration so if they do turn up remember who came with the idée!
Now I think I shall start thinking about supporting the jungle (big apes) and the panda projects that is on the list here in Sweden or check if I can adopt a grey wolf off USA list (that contains over 90 species compared to the few on the Swedish and UK lists).
