Sometimes Sweden is an amazing country

As Stella and I travelled down to visit my parents today I sat looking out from the train window. Normally I would sleep some of the trip but for some reason Stella was worried and couldn’t settle down. I guess it was caused by us having a different place and therefore were over the wheels.

The trip started in a surrounding that contained snow to slowly change to a shade of green. The farmers were busy in their fields, driving their tractors up and down in strait rows. The light green colour came from the wheat planted last autumn. The cows were out in the fields too, and so were the horses.

I watched the lakes, rivers and the red/white houses so typical for Sweden pass by. We went trough several small towns where the national trains don’t stop any more, just the local once.

I saw things I have never seen before (perhaps because I sleep) and I realised:

I live in a wonderful country!

  1. Indeed you do, Cattis! I have only ever visited Sweden once and that was many years ago, in 1973. I saw a little of the countryside as we drove and also saw some wonderful scenery from the ferry that brought me from Denmark to Sweden. We spent a day in the pleasant city of Gothenburg and two days in Stockholm. The capital city was a revelation to me. I had no idea that it was a 'water city' where people used boats to get about as much as cars. My visit to Sweden was short, but long enough to appreciate what a wonderful place it is.

I admire you for being proud of your country. Too few people are proud of their countries these days. I am proud of mine too.
