Five years

I just can’t believe that it has gone 5 years since the Friday afternoon I picked Stella up. I went to an ex co-worker whose boyfriend is the one owned her. Stella rushed strait to me as if she knew. For Stella nearly everything was new: buses, stairs, being indoors. She had shared the doghouse with her mother and half-brother, now she suddenly was alone with a new person.

One of the first things she did was to pee on a rug that I just had picked up at the cleaners. And the first week was a testing week, a new thing every day: she did her needs indoors, she chewed up the mail, she chewed a step counter and so on.

Some photos over our years together.

First hours:

One of her favorite treats is called Chew.

And that can be saved in many places or ways....

One of my fav. A few summers ago, in the park:

Always been one of her sleeping places:

Treats can almost make her do anything - as long it's on her terms.

I just love the way her eyes are on this photo.

I hope we shall have many more years too come.

Saturday 7th of May

A lot has happened along our walk since last and had I taken these today there would been more changes than this.

Today the green was more notable

The leaves in the water are water lilies.

From the bridge

Traces from both the wild beaver and the human beaver

Beaver teeth marks

Future Lilly of the valley

Rocks like these two can make you wonder how they could be so square

or so flat

Today the rocks under this water are out in the open

The only bridge that survived the fire 10 th July 1869

In the cookie of life friends are the chocolate chips!

Back in 2004 I embroided a Nick Barkley picture in "black and white". After she had passed away last year I thought about it now and then. After reciving a letter from her husband Tom in December I got the curage to ask him if I could have it back as a momento of Linda. I felt really bads about asking, I mean I had given it as a gift, given it to somebody else to treasure. Today I got a huge envelope for United Kingdom, no sender written on it and I didn't recognise the handwriting. On the way home from the post office I went over and over in my mind if I had ordered anything online.

It was from Tom! Not only had he sent me "Nick Barkley", he had also sent some other items that I had done for her, wanting me to have them back. There was the "The Wild West Goldmine map", cards I had done and the cook book. I know those of you who knew Linda will snear a little. Linda didn't cook, I know that now but I didn't when I sent it to her. The cook book is one that I did myself to my closest friends for Christmas 2003. I spent the year translating recipes from Swedish to English and I sew covers to them all calling the "book" for Home made. Linda got hers together with the Nick Barkley. One the back of every copy I sew a quote. A different one for each of my friends. Lindas said: In the cookie of life friends are the chocolate chips!

Thanks Tom for returning them to me!
