When we passed the same places Friday I realised that I needed to bring the camera and show you all how it looks today. Water was up to the snow edges on the island and left ice-floes on land when it went down to “normal winter” level, there is space under the ice-floes and so on…

The Force of Mother Nature
Last Thursday we woke up to -22C. That’s cold, very cold. Even Stella thought that and shortened our morning walk. After supper we went for our evening walk, very well dressed. As usually we went in Boulongen and along the river and got treated to Mother Nature showing the force she can have. In the river in high speed ice-floe passed us and the water level was high. When we got to the dam one of the larger gates had been opened. I guess because of the cold weather they opened it so that it wouldn’t get stuck. Any way Stella and I stood watching the scenery for a while before continuing in the cold. It was drama at its best. The scenery only lit up by the lamps along the path. The sound of the river speeding by us in full force. Ice cracking in places where it was still in one piece. The scraping sound when the ice crushes into each other.
